Who
is a Dhira? (

A
Dhira is one who is situated in perfect knowledge and therefore
steadfast in his endeavors. The Bhagavad-Gita defines a Dhira
as one who is not bewildered by death or any other eventuality,
because he is situated in Perfect Knowledge. For
example, what is the most bewildering eventuality we all have
to face? Obviously the answer is death -- it paralyzes even
the wealthiest or strongest of men. And how does a Dhira react?
With Perfect Knowledge of course. A Dhira knows that death is
merely a process of changing an old and worn-out body for a
new one. Similarly, a Dhira is able to deal with all other situations
with intelligence, steadfastness and grave responsibility. His
knowledge is perfect, not contrived and incomplete. Therefore,
his response is intelligent, and not tainted with avarice, or
hatred or any such less qualities. In short, in every way he
is pillar of goodness and intelligence. The
'spiritual' approach is by no mean unique. Spirituality has
always been a part of B-school learning. Of late, it indeed
had come to the forefront. Deepak Chopra, a leading leadership
guru speaks of 'soul of leadership' and offers a clever blend
of eastern philosophy and business leadership. Ken Blanchard
draws heavily from the Bible, as does Norman Vincent Peale or
even successful-professional-with-a-message such as Ben Carson.
Stephan Covey delivers the message of principle centric leadership
that similarly anchored on spiritualism. The
'Dhira-Leadership through Perfect Knowledge' takes inspiration
from the nonsectarian philosophy of the Bhagavad-Gita which
delivers 'Perfect Knowledge.' MJ
