Bhagavad-Gita
By
J. M. Dasa
Finally,
a Bhagavad-Gita that you can relate to! Frankly,
Bhagavad-Gita is invariably presented either as an ‘exotic
song of God’ kind of presentation (in poetry by
some enamoured by its novelty) or it is excessively scholarly
and or sectarian. It is never as it is. Which is why of
course, Srila Prabhupada, the founder acharya of ISKCON,
produced the ‘Bhagavad-Gita as it is.’
Following
the same 'as it is' ideology, complete with all the Gaudiya
Vaishnava conclusions and insights of the acharyas, but
targeting the aggressively progressive modern go-getter
we are in the process of producing a new edition. Spiritualism
here is presented in the popular ‘self-help format’
where the mood is of camaraderie, where a peer is presenting
you with something bizarre with the 'this-is-good-for-you'
assurance. The educated, well healed debauchee then drinks
deep from this unknown fount, often taking in ideologies
far, far removed from his gizmo retrofitted comfort zone.
